Rodina
Bulgaria 2004

Following the footprints of my local identity, I discovered Bulgaria, the country, where I was born, from a different point of view. After having lived in Germany for seven years, I was curious to see from a certain distance, which would be my inner experience there. Based on my memories of colours and smells, I tried to visualise my personal relation with the place and the people who live there.

I took pictures solely in two small villages, where I had spent some time during my childhood. I did not intend to reveal these places, instead I wanted to hold on to single moments, corresponding to my memories of that time.
